We hope you enjoy this patriotic guide on how to draw Veterans Day in just 6 fun and easy steps! You can draw many more characters batman drawing easy, Anubis drawing, cat drawing, cobra drawing, blueberry drawing, coconut drawing and many more drawing for kids.

Step 1:

The picture we are going to draw in this guide on how to draw Veterans Day incorporates an image inspired by the famous photograph Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima. This famous image of soldiers hoisting an American flag during World War II has become an iconic depiction of patriotic pride.

To start this rendering, you can start by using straight lines for the mast. Then use curved lines for the fabric of the flag and start adding internal details. In this step, you can also draw the first soldier in the bottom left corner of the picture. Once these details are drawn, we can move on to step 2.

Step 2:

For the second step of this Veterans Day drawing, we will add another soldier to the image. This soldier will go very close to the first soldier you drew and look a lot like that first soldier. This second will grab the flag directly, while the first soldier would reach for the mast. Once you’re drawn that second soldier, we can continue adding to the picture as we move on to step three of this guide on how to draw Veterans Day.

Step 3:

You are now ready to add more soldiers to the scene in this third step of our guide on how to draw Veterans Day. First, we’ll draw a soldier holding the flagpole. This soldier will be a little different from the others since due to the angle he is in we will see a profile of his face. It may be difficult to see at foremost, but there is also another soldier after him. We will see part of his curved helmet, and his leg will also extend forward. That’s it for this step, and now we can move on to step 4 of the guide!

Step 4:

In this step of your Veterans Day drawing, we will add the last soldier to the picture. Once this step is done, we can add some details and finishes in the next step of the guide. This last soldier will go right to the base of the mast and for this reason, will be quite low to the ground. Finish by drawing some curved lines for the rocky ground below, then when those details are done we can move on to the last details we mentioned!

Step 5:

It’s a very patriotic image, and we’ll highlight that side in this fifth step of our guide on how to draw Veterans Day. You have completed all the outlines and details of the image itself, and in this step, we will write an inspirational message. To do this, we used a fancy font to write a big thank you in bold above the scene.

To further emphasize the patriotic sentiment, we surround the text with stars to refer to the flag. This is a message you could write on stage, but feel free to add any other text you wish! If there is a special veteran in your life, perhaps you could write them a more specialized message to make a card for them. How would you complete this picture with your data?

Step 6:

You’ve completed all the details for this Veterans Day drawing and are now ready to finish the picture off with some color! In our reference image, we show some of the colors you could use for this image. We used bright greens for the soldiers’ uniforms, then we used patriotic red, white, and blue for the flag.

Finally, we finished with gold and yellow for the text above the stage. These are the colors we have chosen, but you should go ahead and use the colors you prefer! One idea would be to use grays to make the image appear black and white.

Here’s how you can make your Veterans Day drawing even better…

Honor a few brave soldiers as we make this Veterans Day sketch even more awesome! For this Veterans Day gift, we’ve kept the wording of a “thank you” simple but effective. It’s quite powerful, but you can also add more text to the image if you want. For instance, you can trust “Range Vet’s Daylight” to the mixture.

What text could you add? Then, once you’ve decided on the text you want for this Veterans Day design, you can play around with the fonts. We used a great one in our example, but you can try others!

The background of this Veterans Day sketch has been kept pretty bare. This is to make sure the focus is on the soldiers and the flag, but you can also add background elements! It could even be something as simple as a beautiful clear blue sky. Or you can add bright sunshine and some clouds to make it even more atmospheric.

Finally, you have many options for the types of colors you use in this Veterans Day design. We show you a way to color it, but you can try all sorts of fun things.
